Promoting healthy active living by engaging youth and seniors together, the New Westminster Youth Centre will be co-located with Century House to meet the social and recreational needs of youth and older adults in the community.
The new facility, to be attached to Century House, will feature 4,000 square feet of new spaces for youth including a lounge and kitchen facilities, computer lab, laundry facilities, fitness centre and flexible office spaces for staff and community partners. Through the shared use of some spaces, the Youth Centre will prove unique opportunities to build upon existing inter-generational programming that develops mutual respect, trust and understanding between the generations.
The project will also include upgrades to associated services and utilities as well as improvements to park washrooms and selected park amenities.
