The new playground design was developed based on community input during the summer of 2009. The new playground will be constructed in the same location as the existing play structures and will be expanded to incorporate a portion of the adjacent sloping bank.

The new playground will feature a new tower, a slide utilizing the slope, new swings, a platform swing, a spinning net, climbing wall and a water feature stream that ooperates using a hand water pump supplied by surplus water from the wading pool. The existing monkey bars, slider track and teeter totter will be refurbished and incorporated with the new features. All salvageable lumber and gravel from the existing playground will be reused in the new playground.

The Grimston Park playground is scheduled to be renovated as part of the City’s infrastructure renewal plan. The existing wading pool, sports field and washroom facilities are not included in this renovation project.
